This image was taken after a 2 mile run out on Route 111 again toward Groton Center. This is Mount Wachusett which is exactly 18 miles from where I took this picture. I am completely amazed by the detail in this image since it was taken FROM another original shot and zoomed-in-on to get this image. The original pixils WERE captured and are found in this new image. Here is the zoomed portion of the image. The area of the zoom covers the area of the red box shown in the images below it.
So, as you can see, there is a huge definition in the upper photograph. The original photo below was captured on a 1 inch sensor (which is a 20 mega-pixil plate!) This equates to a 5,472 pixil wide by 3,648 pixil high image (below).The zoom box detail (shown above) represents only 12.5% of the size of the image below. BUT THE PIXILS ARE THERE in the image above! The even more incredable thing is that I could have zoomed much further IN on the box shown below in order to reach the 100% actual detail of the 12.5% image.
Both images (upper and lower) have been resized to show a 684 pixil width.
